Welcome to the ChessConnect blog
A new home for product updates, organizer guides and stories from the clubs and tournaments happening on ChessConnect.
Chess has never had more places to play online. What it still lacks is an easy way to find the game happening twenty minutes from your front door — the club night above a pub, the Sunday rapid in a beer garden, the training group that has met every Wednesday for thirty years and has never had a website.
That gap is why we built ChessConnect, and it is what this blog is about.
What we'll write here
Organizer guides. Practical, step-by-step pieces for the people who do the unglamorous work: setting up a club page, running a Swiss tournament without a laptop, handling sign-ups, publishing standings that players can actually find.
Product updates. What shipped, what changed, and what we're building next — written for players and organizers rather than for a changelog.
Stories from the board. The clubs, the meetups and the tournaments that happen on ChessConnect, and the people who keep them running.
Where to start
If you have never opened ChessConnect, the fastest way to understand it is the map. It shows real clubs and real events, live, wherever you point it. No account needed.
If you run a club, the two pages worth reading are For clubs and Tournaments.
ChessConnect elsewhere
We have been lucky to have people write about us while we were still finding our feet — interviews, tournament reports and a look at where we sit among the new generation of chess tools. They are all collected on the about page.
More soon. If there is something you want us to cover — or your club has a story worth telling — write to us at support@chessconnect.eu.
